I haven’t gone back.Īll of these things I mentioned have Traxxas part numbers. It makes the truck more stable at speed, less twitchy and all that. However, you may want to consider the long wheelbase rear suspension arms. You may want to avoid the long travel rockers because they make the suspension even softer. Your preferences are not mine so you’ll have to experiment with whatever fluid and springs works best for you. Use a stiff shock fluid like 60wt and a stiff spring. Metal hollow balls in the pushrods and toe links, also get the metal links because they are adjustable, put bearings in the rocker arms. Makes the suspension more predictable and stable. What you want to do is a few things to smooth out the rough edges. You’ll end up with suspension so stiff you can’t enjoy it chasing your tail to avoid chassis slap. That said, I want to let you know you’ll never eliminate chassis slap. I have one and I’ve tinkered with mine thoroughly so I know a pretty good amount I'm from Switzerland and there are barely any RC Shops around, so getting aftermarket parts is quite difficult (while OEM and OEM+ parts are readily available from Swiss retailers). I must precise, I'd rather use Traxxas Performance Accessories than any other brand. My initial idea was GTR Shocks (for the added durability), 1.76 springs and 60/70 wt front/rear oil. I've heard some say 70/80 wt front/rear oil with stock springs. I was thinking of fitting stiffer springs and thicker/heavier shock oil, and I was looking for recommendations. I mostly use the car on pavement, with some occasional mild dirt / gravel runs. It's extremely bouncy, the chassis slaps too easily, and I feel there is room for improvement. Simply put, I'm unhappy with the stock suspension setup. It is my 2nd RC (after an unsuccessful attempt with an EXC Circuit 4x4 VXL about 5 years ago) so my experience is rather limited. I've recently purchased a 1/16th E-Revo VXL.
